根據獸醫委員會於2017年的報告顯示，本港寵物貓狗數量已高達五十一萬隻。主人待寵物猶如子女，往往為牠們提供最好的膳食；若主人暫時離港或寵物患病，也期望牠們得到照顧。今期《JobMarket》專訪四大寵物服務範疇人士，包括寵物保姆、提供寵物旅遊移民服務的顧問、分析食糧營養師及中獸醫等，了解從事那些行業的人手需求、發展前景，以及相關資歷培訓。
寵物保姆須具愛心懂溝通
不少人出遠門時，也不放心把寵物獨留家中，期望有人能代為照顧，因而出現了寵物保母。
香港專業寵物保姆 (Pet Sitting Diary) 的創辦人Sam和Angela指，寵物不太願意寄宿，牠們會害怕陌生地方，寵物保母可到住所照顧牠們。該公司於2016年底創立，當年同業數量少於十家，現時市埸已逾十家。Angela指，現時公司共有八名員工，著重員工的個人素養，「由於他們必須與寵物主人有良好溝通，才能清楚了解對方的需要，也須具備愛心、有交帶；同時略懂基本英文、普通話。」
Sam表示，寵物保母的職責，是協助主人離家期間照料寵物的起居飲食，「日常工作包括上門帶狗散步、換貓砂、甚至打針餵藥。」他續指，「這行講求多勞多得，旺季如暑假可接到四十至五十宗生意，保母可賺到約五千至一萬多元，薪酬多寡視乎個案而定。」Angela認為，主人期望為寵物提供更優質的生活，故他們二人也看好寵物保母的未來發展。
